About ID Austria

Austrian government digital identity system replacing the legacy Handy-Signatur scheme. Provides citizens with a smartphone-based eID for authentication and qualified electronic signatures across government services and the private sector. Based on the EU eIDAS regulation framework with high-level assurance. Planned for integration with the upcoming EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) under the eIDAS 2.0 regulation.
